Truesong Tech: "I recently set up Arch Linux (which is awesome, by the way) on my laptop, and noticed a bit of a problem... despite my resolution, 1680x1050, which usually makes fonts look tiny, all of my system fonts were huge."

Microsoft Poisons Kids“Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.” Microsoft announced today that they will start offering their developer tool kit free to Universities and other high education institutions in the free world. The announcement was made by Senior Goofball Bill Gates in all his retired glory; do you think he sat in his 45,000 square foot smart house, steepling his fingers together, cackling, braying like a crazed mule soon to be put to sleep? If not, you lack imagination. Microsoft also said, if anyone really cares what they say about anything anymore, that they where going to try to make this a speedy process and get these tool kits in the hands of the young and impressionable as soon as possible. Thank God for that. No use in waiting to ruin your future by getting trapped, caged in like a circus ape, waving to idiots while you type away at your Windows keyboard; oh la di da, ooh la la, I’m so keen because I use proprietary software. PLEEEEEEEASE.

They also made plans for the latter half of this year to get these kits out to virtually every country in the world and every University therein, yes even Estonia is not free from this barrage. Pray that the moon men will at least escape Microsoft and its wannabe “FREE” software.
When Microsoft says “FREE”, I think of so-called free websites that ask for a credit card and date of birth.

Ladies and gentlemen, what we have here is nothing more than a very underhanded and sly effort at marketing and mayhem. Naturally, Microsoft is terrified of the Open Source community; they want to destroy Linux if at all possible; they are taking steps to ensure that future developers will not know Linux, not know Open Source, not know FREEDOM, but only the dank, mildewy cellar filled with spiders and cockroaches and gooey, brown slugs that is Microsoft Windows. They are trying to ensure the future of their company by offering these tools for free; millions of students will be poisoned by this heartless behemoth just to make sure that the sniveling, old, toady shareholders will remain blissfully mute.
Don’t be fooled! This isn’t the lilly white, pitter patter of sweet little Microsoft bunnies come to bring us bundles of goodies and joy.
These tools, for the lack of a better word, are not really free, not in any sense of the word as I understand it! No, they know these students will be learning a Microsoft-only, proprietary, platform, and as such, it will become their comfort zone, their security blanket, their wet nurse. And by all that is good and beautiful, I am willing to bet that they would be more likely to pursue cushy Microsoft jobs and the like – at least that is Microsoft’s goal.

What we have here is a dying snow beast trying to hold on for dear life, backed into a corner, its eyes mad with rage, clawing and biting, snarling at friend or foe, trying to do whatever it can to guarantee its survival in this cold, unforgiving tundra. Laying out its young to be sacrificed on a platter, biting into the throats of other snow beasts and siblings, just for the all mighty power of the dollar, the illusion of safety in an unsafe world. Well, the ice age is ending; the snow beast will soon be extinct.

Who doesn’t think of Steve Ballmer while sitting at home picturing a Wendigo eating the dead flesh of a village idiot? I laugh, I snort, to think of him tossing chairs around his office, screaming like a rabid, balding monkey at his staff, and cursing Google or Open Source or any other target with the name of the almighty. If not a Wendigo, if that’s too FAR OUT THERE for you, maybe it conjures up images of Nikita Khrushchev banging his shoe on the table at a UN debate, spittle flying from his twisted teeth, ears bent around his head like the wings of a leathery bat, saying he was going to bury the United States! Well, Mr.
Ballmer, who are you going to bury? Who?

God has a special place for wicked men that try and poison our children, and it isn’t filled with harps, winged angels, or cherubs. No, it’s a much darker, crueler place. I am absolutely positive that another generation will not be fooled, will not lie down in the path of another Microsoft campaign and fall victim to this proprietary web of deceit.
Try again, Mr. Ballmer. Try again. Just because you say it’s free, just because you say it’s open, that doesn’t mean it is so.

You are hysterical
I don't like Microsoft, and I don't like what they're doing as much as you do, but you're sounding hysterical in this post.

And before anyone accuses me of being a Microsoft shill..no, I use 100% linux.
