Hi there.Ive used a few distros in the past and I have settled on Slackware.Currently 12.1 release.I have found it to be fast and stable. It is also easy to upgrade and to add packages. It may not be as current as some distros but I prefer stability and reliability over cutting edge. This doesnt mean its old,it just means that all its parts are well tested. If things do go wrong their is loads of support available.Another reason I like Slackware is because I like to compile my packages from source.Either by using a Slackbuild _script_ if available or building it myself. Some packages just run more smoothly or can have more options if you build them yourself.Im thinking about MP_layer_ here.It works better when built.Well thats about it.Ive used this distro since version 6 or 7 and I havent found anything that would make me change. If Slackware suddenly disappeared I would maybe use Zenwalk or some other Slackware _base_d distro. As they say "Once you do Slack, you wont go back".
