Enemy Territory is a standalone game that DOES NOT require you to have the Return to Castle Wolfenstein game installed. New campaigns and various features have been added. See the readme file below for the specific details about customizable game settings, etc.

Native Linux version download:

Note that if you are using only a 64bit graphics driver the game may hang - you also need to install the 32bit version of your drivers libs.

There are some known issues with running Enemy Territory.

Not getting any sound. su to root and run the following command in a terminal:

echo "et.x86 0 0 direct" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss

This usually fixes the issue.

If you're on a 64 bit system, besides installing the 32 bit version of SDL, you'll need to make heavy use of the linux32 command. If you try to load the initial .run file that you need for installing the game and you get an error that you can't execute the binary file try running:

linux32 sh ./et.run

where 'et.run' is your binary install file. This'll fix it. Also when you then go to launch the game (which is the program 'et'), you'll also need to use linux32, as:

linux32 ./et
