Truesong Tech: "I recently set up Arch Linux (which is awesome, by the way) on my laptop, and noticed a bit of a problem... despite my resolution, 1680x1050, which usually makes fonts look tiny, all of my system fonts were huge."

The long awaited ETQW is finally here for Linux! This long awaited game sports the very best in graphics and massively collaborative online gaming.

Note you will need the retail cd when you install the Linux client. The torrent is lined below:

Many thanks again to the IDsoftware Linux team!

When installing this game on Linux, you'll download a .run file. On 64 bit platforms, it might be necessary to execute this file using the linux32 command, to force it into 32-bit mode.

Make sure you have the latest SDL library before running this game. If the game refuses to load, and you see several resolution errors, check your xorg.conf file. Your monitor resolution might not be set up correctly. If the default depth for the monitor is set to 16, try changing it to 24 and then re-running the game.

Yes very good point! It needs to be in 32bit when you install these games. Here is the command I ran to install an update to ETQW

linux32 ./ETQW-client-1.2-full.r5.x86.run

Also when asked in the install give the FULL path of the directly where you want ETQW installed.

And when you put the CD in dont close any windows that might pop up.

That was executed in the game directory - if you have issues you might want to try running in super user for the install.
